DESIGN AND BRAND GUIDELINES
WELCOME TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL NEW BRAND.
Included in your logo package are all the files you need to keep your brand cohesive all the way around: print, web, and digital. The brand was created by our wonderfully talented and brilliant designer Alice.
The last page of this guide is a cheat-sheet containing more details about the file types included and how to use them effectively.
This Logo Guide includes all of the logo styles that you approved. You will also find a full color palette (PMS, CMYK, RGB, HEX #) to ensure that your brand colors are the same on every platform and on all the materials you produce.
Typography has also been selected for your brand, including a Primary and Secondary font. These fonts should be used exclusively to keep your brand consistent. Simply scan the QR codes to download the fonts from the web.

PRIMARY LOGO
THE COMPLETE PACKAGE
The Arcadia Unified Arts logo comprises two elements: the logo symbol and wordmark. The symbol is a refined, modern design that uses a classy serif font and start contrast to achieve a thoughtful and artistic look. A stroke of red paint reinforces the vibrant, creative soul of this arts program.
The logo type has been carefully chosen for its bold, simple style. The wording is easy to read at any size, in print or on the web. The font used in the logo itself is called Gotham. A similar web-safe font called Proxima Nova can be found on page 4 of this guide.
The brand is presented through the use of color as well. The main corporate colors are Black, White and Red. Secondary colors of Grey and Gold finish out the palette to provide versatility. These colors have been selected according to international standards as shown on page 5 and are easily implemented.
DEPARTMENT LOGOS
Since the district‘s arts program covers a wide range of courses, the base of the Primary Logo has been adapted to suit each one. The same initials and accompanying font are used across all program logos to ensure that all assets are consistent with the overarching Arcadia Unified Arts brand. As with the Primary Logo, files have been provided for any area or color space.
TYPOGRAPHY
Typography plays an important role in communicating an overall tone and quality. Careful use of typography reinforces the brand‘s personality and ensures clarity and harmony in all Arcadia Unified Arts communications. We have selected Proxima Nova and Mrs Eaves XL - an attractive, easy-to-read combination of serif and sans serif that scales very well.
COLORS
Color plays an important role in the Arcadia Unified Arts brand identity. The colors below are recommendations for various media. A palette of primary colors has been developed, which should be relied on heavily for text and main design elements.
Consistent use of these colors will contribute to the cohesive look of the Arcadia Unified Arts brand identity across all relevant media. Check with your designer or printer when using the corporate colors so that they will always be consistent.
FILE INFORMATION
The logo package contains a lot of files. There are several file types for every logo style, in every color variation. If you‘re having trouble deciding which is the appropriate file to use in any given situation, please refer to the information provided here.
LOGO - FULL COLOR
The vector (AI, EPS, PDF) files are created in CMYK colors and are meant for full-color printing, magazine ads, or any materials that you intend to print from your own desktop color printer, i.e, invoices, receipts, letters, etc.
The Web files (JPG, PNG) are created in RGB colors and are made to be used on-screen, i.e. on your website, email, or social media.
LOGO - BLACK AND WHITE
This version should be used on faxes or any materials you reproduce using a copier. It is also the version that you should provide when you want your logo engraved.
WHICH FORMAT SHOULD I USE?
For printing purposes:
AI, EPS, and PDF formats are vector art. Vector art files are what printers need, because they can be resized for any purpose without any loss of quality. It is always the preferred file type for screen printing, embroidery, and any method of high-quality printing where quality and color specification are vital.
For electronic or on-screen purposes:
JPG and PNG formats are best for display on screens, whether it be on a desktop, smartphone, or tablet. These formats are required for websites, social media, PowerPoint, email signatures, and other on-screen applications.
Important note: The JPG files have a solid white background, while PNG files have a transparent background. This allows the PNG files to be used on top of any other background colors or elements.
